لعّلَperhaps نجمَNajm (star) الدِّينal-Din (of the faith) ذاendowed with الفضلgenerosity
يُذكِّرُreminds الفاضلَal-Fadil (the eminent one) فيconcerning شغليmy affair
Perhaps Najm al-Din, endowed with generosity,
Perhaps the star of faith, the virtuous one
will remind al-Fadil about my affair.
Will remind the noble one busy with my affairs
إنَّindeed أَجلَّnoblest النّاسِpeople قدراًin worth فتىًa young man
بفضلهِthrough his generosity يتعبُtoils منfor أَجليmy sake
Indeed, the noblest of men in worth is a young man
Indeed the most esteemed of people, a young man
who, in his generosity, toils for my sake.
Labors with his grace for my sake
ومثلُهُand his like مَنْone who يعتنيdevotes attention بالعُلىto lofty attainments
ويستديمُand sustains الحمدَpraise منfrom مثليone like me
And his like is one who cares for lofty attainments
And the like of him who cares for the sublime
and keeps earning praise from one like me.
And continues praise from the like of me
