أَبْصرَني مُبلبلاً

أَبْصرَني مُبلبلاً

وفي الغرامِ مُممتحنْ

وفي الغرامِ مُممتحنْ

He saw me distraught,

A sparrow saw me lovesick

And sorely tried in love.

And in love being tested

فقال مَن قاتِلُه

فقال مَن قاتِلُه

قلتُ له قائلُ منْ

قلتُ له قائلُ منْ

Then he said, “Who is his killer?”

He asked, "Who torments you so?"

I said to him, “The one who says ‘Who?’”

I said, "A speaker who has confessed."
