أَما الغبارُ فإنَّهُ

أَما الغبارُ فإنَّهُ

مما أَثارَتْهُ السَّنابكْ

مما أَثارَتْهُ السَّنابكْ

As for the dust, it is

what the hooves have stirred up.

والجوُّ منه مظلمٌ

والجوُّ منه مظلمٌ

لكنْ أَنارَ به السَّنابكْ

لكنْ أَنارَ به السَّنابكْ

And the sky is dark with it,

yet through it the hooves shine.

يا دهرُ لي عبدُ الرَّحي

يا دهرُ لي عبدُ الرَّحي

مِ فلستُ أَخشى مسَّ نابكْ

مِ فلستُ أَخشى مسَّ نابكْ

O Time, I have ʿAbd al-Raḥī—

—m, so I fear not the touch of your fang.
