مشطٌa comb ومنشفةٌand a towel فيهon his account حسدتُهماI envied them both
مشطٌ ومنشفةٌ فيه حسدتُهما
دمعيmy tears لذاtherefore بهماbecause of them both فيّاضُoverflowing عارضِهِtheir raincloud
دمعي لذا بهما فيّاضُ عارضِهِ
A comb and a towel—I envied them both on his account;
thus, because of them both, the raincloud of my tears overflows.
فتلكَfor that one حاظيةٌfavored منfrom مسِّtouching أخمَصهِthe hollow of his foot
فتلكَ حاظيةٌ من مسِّ أخمَصهِ
وذاكَand that one مستغرقٌimmersed فيin مسكِthe musk of عارِضِهِhis beard
وذاكَ مستغرقٌ في مسكِ عارِضِهِ
For the one is favored by touching the hollow of his foot,
and the other is immersed in the musk of his beard.
