O friend, will you help us by turning aside,

Oh companion, do you benefit us with wandering

Making a detour to dwellings at al-Barqa,

Around dwellings in Al-Barqa'a, winding,

عَلَى مَنازِلَ بالطَّاوُوسِ قَدْ دَرَسَتْ

عَلَى مَنازِلَ بالطَّاوُوسِ قَدْ دَرَسَتْ

تُسْدِي الجَنُوبُ عليها ثُمَّ تَتْتَسِجُ

تُسْدِي الجَنُوبُ عليها ثُمَّ تَتْتَسِجُ

Around dwellings in Al-Taawous, which have decayed -

The south wind lays its warp over them, then weaves.

The sides pour rain on them, then weep.
