My master has no rival in perfection,
The paths of perfection belong to my master
Possessor of the loftiest nobility, the ample-bellied, the bald-browed.
The one with the glorious traits, the purest lineage
عمhe encompassed الفضايلthe virtues حينwhen خصhe was singled out برفعةwith eminence
عم الفضايل حين خص برفعة
منthan ذروةthe summit العلياthe highest heights أجلmore august وأرفعand loftier
من ذروة العليا أجل وأرفع
He encompassed all virtues when singled out for a lofty rank,
The embodiment of virtues when he was granted the highest station
More august and loftier than the highest summit.

عهد النبي إلى الأنام بفضله
ويلwoe لمنكرto one who denies فضلهhis excellence ومضيعand one who neglects it
ويل لمنكر فضله ومضيع
The Prophet instructed humankind concerning his excellence;
The covenant of the Prophet to the people concerning his virtues
Woe to whoever denies his excellence and to whoever neglects it!
Woe to those who deny his virtues and neglect this
عدتwere counted فضايلهhis virtues فأعيىso proved impossible حصرهاfully enumerating them
عدت فضايله فأعيى حصرها
وغداand became حسيراexhausted عنهshort of it فكرthe thought الألمعيthe keen-witted man
وغدا حسيرا عنه فكر الألمعي
His virtues were counted, yet fully enumerating them proved impossible,
I counted his virtues but his enumeration exhausted me
And the keen-witted man's thought grew exhausted, falling short of it.
