The seekers have triumphed, and union has been attained,

And the lovers have won their beloveds.

    And we remain wavering, bewildered,

    Between union's threshold and estrangement.

We hope for nearness through the servants, and this

Is, to discerning minds, impossibility itself.

So give us a draught of it that wards off grief

And guides us to the right path.

O healer of sickness, O balm for the

wound, and O my deliverer from afflictions,

I do not know with what to treat my sickness,

Or by what I may triumph on the Day of Reckoning.
