فترتْgrew languid لواحظُكَyour sidelong glances المراضُthe ailing ولمand did not تَزَلْcease
تلكَthose الفَواترُthe languid ones بالقُلوبِto hearts فَواتكاdeadly
Your ailing glances have grown languid, yet still
Those languid glances are deadly to hearts.

So now I voice reproach aloud—for how often, and how often,
I have let my hems fall over your lapses.

And whenever I turn to love for you, I am granted
The coolness of forgetting by recalling your rebuffs.

O you, my death lies in losing union with you:
You have surpassed the beauties—so yield, before I lose you.
