The stranger among you has no home.

This is not how a neighbor is honored.

My thoughts sent me flying to you, and in

my heart are nests for the birds of sorrow.

And behind me—so pity my exile—

lie thickly wooded gardens and rivers.

But I left them behind against my will,

and time has its turns and changes.

And there is disgrace in lodging at the inn, and in

your proverbs: “Fire, but no disgrace.”
