Why do I torment myself in love and lie awake,

when Muhammad, the bearer of glad tidings, has come with good news?

And he sent, from the wonders of his reed pen’s magic,

battalions—time perishes while they are immortalized.

Through them, love of the army seeks their books.

And may you remain praised as ever-renewed night and day pass.
