    Whatever things I may forget, I will not forget her words

    To her maid: “Get up; ask for me about the odd-numbered night.”

    فَلا تُعجِلي مِنهُ فَإِنَّكِ في أَجرِ

    Then she said: “People say it is on the sixteenth;

    So do not be hasty about it, for you are earning a reward.”

    For no night in my eyes—even one called Friday—

    Nor the night of al-Adha, nor the night of al-Fitr,

    Can equal Monday in my eyes; and quite likely

    The Night of Decree would be their equal.
