أُصُلاً فَدَمعُكَ دائِمٌ إِسبالُهُ
Indeed, the beloved’s camels have departed
The beloved's beauty has vanished
in the late afternoon, so your tears stream without cease.
And your tears flow ceaselessly

Hold to modesty, for you have already wept aloud,
Be modest, for you have wept loudly
if a weeper’s wailing can do him any good.
As if crying loudly would bring him back

In the meadows he walked one evening

A man whose beauty and grace delighted you

With curly hair and anklets

Blessed are those meadows and blessed
a figure there—and how dear are others like him!
Is that man who was there and others like him
