My resolve has sought you out, O Batlus,
with the sword’s edge, like a meteor when he springs into action.

Sparks of fire fly from its gleam,
in the hand of the cavalry’s champion, the son of Abu Lahab.

So woe to you, O accursed one, at his hands when he strikes
with his keen sword on the day of battle-dust, and if he leaps!
