Winter’s day is summerlike, and its night—

A summer’s day; there is nothing impossible in this.

A summer day where nothing can go wrong,

شتاء وصيف دائبان كلاهما

وبينهما للحادثات مجال

وبينهما للحادثات مجال

Winter and summer, both unceasing,

And winter, a companion, both march along,

And between them there is scope for events:

Leaving events to hop back and forth between.

حياة وموت وافتقار وثروة

حياة وموت وافتقار وثروة

وفقد أنيس ناصح ووصال

وفقد أنيس ناصح ووصال

Life and death, poverty and wealth,

Life and death, riches, poverty,

And loss of a sincere companion, and union.

The loss of trusted friends, new friends that call...

وفاعل هذا كله فوق فعله

وفاعل هذا كله فوق فعله

وليس على فوق الفعال فعال

وليس على فوق الفعال فعال

And the Doer of all this is above His work,

The author of all this surpasses his tale

And above the Doer there is no doer.

Nothing surpasses God, the Maker of all.

هو الله يقضي ما يشاء بحكمة

هو الله يقضي ما يشاء بحكمة

وعدل وقول الخارصين ضلال

وعدل وقول الخارصين ضلال

He is God, who decrees what He wills with wisdom

He decides as He wills with perfect wisdom,

And justice; the speech of conjecturers is error.

Justice. Those who deny Him are astray.
