ما بتّ أذكر يا مذكور بعض جوى
شوقيmy longing ووجديand my passion لكنّيbut I علىوجمin sorrowful silence
شوقي ووجدي لكنّي علىوجم
I have not spent the night recounting, O remembered one, any of the burning anguish
of my longing and passion; rather, I am silent with grief.
عذريmy excuse إليكto you انقياضgiving way; cracking الكفّthe hand منfrom دركيmy attaining
عذري إليك انقياض الكفّ من دركي
قضاءfulfilling حقكyour due بينbetween النطقspeech والقلمand the pen
قضاء حقك بين النطق والقلم
My excuse to you is my hand's giving way as I try
