And be patient when livelihood diminishes,

yet you find no decrease in numbers.

واخدم نفيستك الضعي

فة واحتمل تعب الجسد

And serve your frail little self,

and bear the body's toil.

For a headache may arise,

and prove better than inflamed eyes.

ومتى اختلطت بصاحب

And whenever you mingle with a companion

close to you, and with family or [a child?],

فاعلم بأنك حاصل

بين الشماتة والحسد

then know that you are caught

between gloating and envy.
