بادرhasten وبادرand hasten قبلbefore أنthat
بادر وبادر قبل أن
تقعَoccur الحشارجthe death-rattles فيin الحناجرthe throats
تقعَ الحشارج في الحناجر
Hasten, and hasten, before
death-rattles sound in throats,
ويقالand it is said ماتhe has died فبادرواso hasten, all of you
ويقال مات فبادروا
لمضيّهfor his departure نحوtoward المقابرthe graves
لمضيّه نحو المقابر
and it is said, “He has died—so hasten
his departure toward the graves.”
فمتىso whenever أبيتyou refuse علىin opposition to المشيthe adviser (first fragment)
فمتى أبيت على المشي
رthe adviser (final fragment) فلاthen do not تلمblame أصحابthe companions of طاهرTahir
ر فلا تلم أصحاب طاهر
So whenever you defy the adviser,
do not blame Tahir’s companions.
