جراجيج ركبان الحجيج وخيّموا
Lo, by Him in whose House's courtyard there halted
By Him in whose abode the caravans
the huge camels of the mounted pilgrims, who pitched camp—
Of pilgrims alighted and pitched their tents,

لقد حلّ بي في الحبّ مالوا قليله

indeed, in love I have suffered something whose slightest part,
The agony of love has so consumed me
if borne by a hard, firm, rounded rock,
That none but the solid rock could bear so much.

رضيضا هشيما صلده ومهدّم
would leave its summits weakened, the rock demolished,
My bones are fragile and my strength all spent,
its hard stone crushed, shattered, and ruined.
My heart left shattered, brittle, crushed.
