Indeed I, in coming to know Ahmad, after
testing his character in his private moments,
كمعيدlike one renewing شكdoubt فيabout خرىshit قدalready شمّهhe smelled it
كمعيد شك في خرى قد شمّه
فأرادso he wanted معرفةknowledge اليقينcertainty فذاقهso he tasted it
فأراد معرفة اليقين فذاقه
am like one who renewed his doubts about shit he had smelled,
then wanted to know for certain, so he tasted it.
