إن كان في العيّ آفات مقدّرة

ففي البلاغة آفات تساويها

ففي البلاغة آفات تساويها

If inarticulacy has its allotted ills,

If there are destined flaws in the eyes,

Then eloquence has ills equal to them.

Then in eloquence there are equal flaws
