أغذّى بخبز الأرض ما دمت فوقها

أغذّى بخبز الأرض ما دمت فوقها

مقيما فإن أقبر تغذّى بيَ الأرض

مقيما فإن أقبر تغذّى بيَ الأرض

I am fed with the earth's bread as long as I remain upon it,

I nourish with the bread of the earth as long as I live upon it

dwelling there; but if I am buried, the earth is fed on me.

If I am buried, the earth will nourish me

إذا كان بدئي بالإرادة واقعا

إذا كان بدئي بالإرادة واقعا

فإن القنا للمحدث المبتدا فرض

فإن القنا للمحدث المبتدا فرض

If my beginning came to pass by will,

If my beginning was by my will made real

then spears are ordained for the newly created being.

Then gratitude is an obligation upon the initiator imposed

وكل يد مبسوطة بإرادة

وكل يد مبسوطة بإرادة

يسجمعها من بعد بسطتها القبض

يسجمعها من بعد بسطتها القبض

And every hand outstretched by will—

contraction will draw it in after its outstretching.

Will be clasped again after its extension
