والنصح للأعمى عداله

Cheating the blind is baseness.

And honesty toward the blind is justice.

Trusting and unresisting,

He has entrusted you with his desire and his wealth.

فاحكم بحكم مهذب

فاحكم بحكم مهذب

باع الجهالة بالأصاله

باع الجهالة بالأصاله

So judge as a refined man would,

One who has traded ignorance for nobility.

فمتى غبنت مسطلا

فمتى غبنت مسطلا

فالكلب عمّك لا محاله

فالكلب عمّك لا محاله

So whenever you cheat a simpleton,

Then the dog is surely your paternal uncle.
