Awake, O drowsy one, and look

With the eye of thought at the state of humankind.

The earth will conceal my body; then will decay

Within its soil my joints and bones.

And my essence, my perception, and my speech

Are where justice is—and speech has ceased.

So be just and brave, with enough to live on,

Wise; you will be found free. And peace.

For conjunction effaces the full moon’s light,

And separation and completion bring it to fullness.

    And everything arises of necessity,

And darkness follows the light of the sun.

And the full moon duly advances its scale-pan [sense unclear].

And most of these people are asleep.
