  1. وأعجب ما رأت عيناي شيخ

    عليم بالقبيح من الجميل

    And the strangest thing my eyes have seen is an old man,

    Who knows the ugly from the beautiful.

  2. تغابى بعد شيب الراس ظرفا

    فأعلن بالكثير من القليل

    He feigned foolishness after his head turned gray, to seem witty,

    And so made a great display out of little.
