ويوم منى أعرضت عنه ولم أقل

And on the day at Mina, I turned away from it and did not speak

And one day I turned away from him and did not say

For my soul's need upon obtaining its bounty.

To my soul's need when attaining its wishes

وللناس في النفس المريضة حاجة

وللناس في النفس المريضة حاجة

إذا النفس رامت خطّة لا تنالها

إذا النفس رامت خطّة لا تنالها

And people have an interest in the ailing soul

And people have a need in the sick soul

When the soul seeks a goal it cannot attain.

When the soul desires a goal it cannot attain
