يَمنَعُكَ الصَبرَ إِذا رُمتَهُ

تَذكارُ مَن خَلَّفتَ بِالرافِقَه

تَذكارُ مَن خَلَّفتَ بِالرافِقَه

You are kept from patience when you seek it

by the memory of the one you left behind in al-Rafiqah.

قَد كُنتَ عَن وَصفِ الهَوى ساكِتاً

قَد كُنتَ عَن وَصفِ الهَوى ساكِتاً

فَفَضَحَتكَ الأَدمُعُ الناطِقَه

فَفَضَحَتكَ الأَدمُعُ الناطِقَه

You had kept silent about describing love,

then the speaking tears exposed you.
