غَداً يُنكِرُ القَومُ الَّذينَ تَخَلَّفوا

غَداً يُنكِرُ القَومُ الَّذينَ تَخَلَّفوا

مُقامي وَلَولا أَنتِ لَم أَتَخَلَّفِ

مُقامي وَلَولا أَنتِ لَم أَتَخَلَّفِ

Tomorrow, the people who stayed behind will disapprove

Tomorrow the people will deny those who fell behind

of my staying; and were it not for you, I would not have stayed behind.

My standing, and were it not for you I would not have fallen behind

لَقَد عَرَّضَتني لِلظُنونِ صَبابَتي

لَقَد عَرَّضَتني لِلظُنونِ صَبابَتي

وَوُقِّفتُ لِلواشينَ في غَيرِ مَوقِفِ

وَوُقِّفتُ لِلواشينَ في غَيرِ مَوقِفِ

My passionate longing has indeed exposed me to suspicions,

Indeed my youth exposed me to suspicions

and I was made to stand before the slanderers in an unbecoming position.

And I was made to stand before the slanderers in places not meant for standing
