I stayed in a town, and you departed from it;

I dwelt in a town, then left it

أَقَلُّ الناسِ بِالدُنيا سُروراً

حَبيبٌ قَد نَأى عَنهُ حَبيبُ

حَبيبٌ قَد نَأى عَنهُ حَبيبُ

The least joyful of all people in this world

The least joyful person in life

Is a lover whose beloved has gone far away.

Is a lover kept far from his lover
