And I am surely hard of heart if I am patient,

While my beloved has set out, traveling among those who travel.

So if I do not die of grief, anxiety, and anguish,

Then, after him, I have heartaches and sighs.

I asked you about your journey, but you concealed it,

And already the hour had come for you to set out early and part.

And how could they resolve to part, when you are sovereign

Over every parting, with no sovereign above you?
