خَبِّر بَني الصَلتِ عَنّا إِن لَقيتَهُمُ

أَنَّ الحَديدَ إِذا أَمسَيتُ غَنّاني

Tell the sons of al-Ṣalt about us, if you meet them:

that when evening overtakes me, iron sings to me.

That iron sings to me when evening comes.

فَدونَكُم مالِكاً لا يُفلِتَنَّكُم

فَدونَكُم مالِكاً لا يُفلِتَنَّكُم

فَمالِكٌ في حِياضِ المَوتِ دَلّاني

فَمالِكٌ في حِياضِ المَوتِ دَلّاني

Malik is yours, then—do not let him escape you;

So seize Mālik; do not let him escape you,

for Malik led me into the pools of death.

For Mālik lowered me into the pools of death.
