With your fair countenance, you gladden the world,

For through you it has indeed attained its wishes.

Eid now smiles through your exalted glory,

As do Time, the people, the world, and all within it.

Eid is but a crescent borrowing from you

Light for humankind's eyes, brightening their inner corners.

Time has passed me a cup of wishes' purest draught—

How fine the wine whose cupbearer is Time's boon companion!

And Egypt, in rapture, now rivals the cosmos [a conjectural reading],

For you are a radiant full moon in her nights.

    تَزدان في نُظمِها الزاهي لآليها

    And humankind smiles within her, revealing the clear luster of pearls;

Her pearls are adorned within her radiant verse.

So come praise, prayer, and gracious congratulations—

Their rhymes grow sweet in praising your qualities.

May your lofty star never cease to shine upon

All creation, those far away and those near.

And may you remain a spirit for Time's breast, reviving it.

Blessed are the days of a festival whose splendor you reveal!
