1. البشر أَجرى بنبها أَنهر العَسل

    وَالنَصر أَضحى بِتَوفيقِ السعود جَلى

    Joy set rivers of honey flowing in Banha,

    And victory became manifest through the favor of auspicious stars.

  2. وافى الخديوي فَأَضحى نور بَهجَتِها

    كَالبَدرِ في التم أَو كَالشَمسِ في الحَمل

    The Khedive arrived, and the radiance of its joy became

    Like the moon at its fullest, or the sun in Aries.

  3. وَالاِرض قَد أَلبَسَت أَبها مَطارِقُها

    وَازينت في بَديع الحلى وَالحلل

    And the earth was clothed in its most splendid mantles,

    And adorned itself in exquisite jewels and robes.

  4. ما تم أَرض سَقاها غيث مقدمه

    اِلّا وَفازَت بَزاهي الاِنس وَالجَذل

    There was no land watered by the rain of his arrival

    That did not gain radiant delight and mirth.

  5. تَهلل القطر بَشرا من زِيارَتِه

    وَأَيقَن القَوم حُسن الفَوز بِالاِمل

    The land beamed with gladness at his visit,

    And the people were certain of the happy fulfillment of their hopes.
