    How can I escape while these glances attack,

    And the sword from your eyelids is drawn against me?

    And when the scorpions of the temples scurried,

    You knew for certain from them that I would be slain.

    O gazelle, will you draw near, so my eye may rejoice

    In meeting you, if there is a way to meet?

    Do not fear for your cheeks on account of my gaze, if

    It reveals wounds while the waters flow.

    فَاِحكُم قِصاصا فَالشُهودُ عَدول

    Your eyes bore witness that my mourning was permitted;

    So decree retribution, for the witnesses are upright.
