لاحَ السُعود وَأَسفَر التَفويق

لاحَ السُعود وَأَسفَر التَفويق

وَتَلا لَنا سور العُلا تَوفيق

وَتَلا لَنا سور العُلا تَوفيق

Good fortune shone, and excellence dawned.

The morning light shone and divine aid was revealed,

And Tawfiq recited to us the surahs of eminence.

And for us the verses of ascension were recited with success.

رقم الفقيه لَهُ عَلى لَوحِ الهُدى

رقم الفقيه لَهُ عَلى لَوحِ الهُدى

أَقبَل فَاِنَّكَ لِلنَّجاحِ رَفيق

أَقبَل فَاِنَّكَ لِلنَّجاحِ رَفيق

The jurist inscribed for him upon the tablet of guidance:

The number of the jurist is inscribed on the tablet of guidance,

“Come forward, for you are a companion to success.

Come, for with you as a companion there is success.

وَاِقرَأ كِتابَ اللّهِ جَل ثَناؤُه

وَاِقرَأ كِتابَ اللّهِ جَل ثَناؤُه

فَهُوَ المَجيد وَبِالثَناء حِقيق

فَهُوَ المَجيد وَبِالثَناء حِقيق

And read the Book of God—exalted be His praise—

And recite the book of Allah, majestic is His glory,

For it is glorious and worthy of praise.

For it is splendid and truly deserving of praise.

روح الوُجودِ عَلى البَشيرِ مَنزِل

روح الوُجودِ عَلى البَشيرِ مَنزِل

يَهدي اِلى الرُشدِ الوَرى وَيَسوق

يَهدي اِلى الرُشدِ الوَرى وَيَسوق

The spirit of existence, revealed to the bearer of glad tidings,

The spirit of existence descended upon the giver of good news,

Guides humankind toward righteousness and leads them onward.”

Guiding mankind to righteousness and leading the way.

فَأَعِنهُ يا رَبّ عَلى دَرك العُلا

فَأَعِنهُ يا رَبّ عَلى دَرك العُلا

فَالنَجح حَيثُ العَون مِنكَ رَفيق

فَالنَجح حَيثُ العَون مِنكَ رَفيق

So help him, O Lord, to attain eminence;

So aid him, O Lord, to attain the highest summit,

For success is wherever Your help is a companion.

For with your support as a companion, there is success.

وَاِمنُن بِفَوزِ الحاضِرينَ فَكلهم

وَاِمنُن بِفَوزِ الحاضِرينَ فَكلهم

بِنَوالِ حَظ مِن رِضاكَ وَثيق

بِنَوالِ حَظ مِن رِضاكَ وَثيق

And bless those present with success, for all of them

And let us believe in the triumph of those present, for all of them

Are confident of receiving a share of Your favor.

Are destined by your good pleasure and intimate bond to obtain a share.

وَاِجبِر بِعَفوِكَ وَالرِضا من أَنشَأت

وَاِجبِر بِعَفوِكَ وَالرِضا من أَنشَأت

ما اِخضَرَّ مِن دوحِ الرِياضِ وَربق

ما اِخضَرَّ مِن دوحِ الرِياضِ وَربق

And restore, through Your pardon and favor, those You created,

And mend through your forgiveness and pleasure whatever withered

So long as the gardens’ great trees grow green and become entwined (last word uncertain).

Of the thickets blooming in the gardens and meadows.

قالَت وَقَد بَسَطَت أَكف ضراعة

قالَت وَقَد بَسَطَت أَكف ضراعة

يا رَب فَليُكمِل لَنا التَوفيق

يا رَب فَليُكمِل لَنا التَوفيق

She said, having stretched out her palms in supplication:

She pleaded, extending begging hands,

“O Lord, let success be complete for us.

“O Lord, complete for us divine aid.”

بحبيبك الهادي تبلغنا الرِضا

بحبيبك الهادي تبلغنا الرِضا

ما دمت عائِشة وَلاح بَريق

ما دمت عائِشة وَلاح بَريق

Through Your beloved, the guide, may You bring us to Your favor,

“Through your beloved guide may we attain pleasure

So long as I, Aisha, live and a gleam shines.”

As long as you live, Aisha, and the morning gleams.”
