هذا الوجود كما تراه فلم يكن

This existence, as you see it—there was nothing

This existence as you see it was not

But it in the past, and it is the pledge of what is to come.

Except God in the past and hostage to the future

ولئن تعدّد في مظاهر كنهه

ولئن تعدّد في مظاهر كنهه

فصميمه متوحد اللبنات

فصميمه متوحد اللبنات

And though it takes many forms in the manifestations of its essence,

And if it varied in its manifestations its essence

Yet its core is one in all its building blocks.

Is unified in its components

باق على الآياد مثل بقائه

باق على الآياد مثل بقائه

قبلا وتلك حياته كحياتي

قبلا وتلك حياته كحياتي

It endures through the ages, just as it endured

Remaining for eras like its remaining

Before; that is its life, like mine.

Before and that is its life like my life

عمري ملايين القرون وعدها

عمري ملايين القرون وعدها

دوني وفي آياتها آياتي

دوني وفي آياتها آياتي

My lifetime is millions of centuries, and their count

My age is millions of eons beyond counting

Falls short of me; in their signs are my own.

Before me and in its verses are my verses

عمري هو الزل الذي لا ينتهي

عمري هو الزل الذي لا ينتهي

حسبانه أو ينتهي لصفات

حسبانه أو ينتهي لصفات

My lifetime is beginningless eternity, which never ends

My age is the infinity that does not end

In its reckoning, nor is bounded by attributes.

Its account or end to its attributes

فيه الحياة مع الممات تبادلا

فيه الحياة مع الممات تبادلا

كالتوأمين فما الممات مماتي

كالتوأمين فما الممات مماتي

Within it, life and death have alternated

In it life and death alternate

Like twins; thus death is not my death.

Like twins so death is not my death

فيم التحدث عن صفات ما لها

فيم التحدث عن صفات ما لها

اصل سوى الأوهام والعثرات

اصل سوى الأوهام والعثرات

Why speak of attributes that have

So why speak of attributes that have

No basis except illusions and missteps?

No origin but illusions and stumbling blocks

الكون ليس سواه كون آخر

الكون ليس سواه كون آخر

إلا المدى المحجوب عن نظراتي

إلا المدى المحجوب عن نظراتي

The universe—there is no other universe besides it,

The universe is nothing but another universe

Except the expanse concealed from my gaze.

Except the scope veiled from my sights

كفل الزمان أبوه إعلانا له

كفل الزمان أبوه إعلانا له

والعلم وهو مناصر ومواتي

والعلم وهو مناصر ومواتي

Time, its father, has ensured its disclosure,

Time vouched for its father as a declaration of it

And so has science, its champion and ally.

As did science as its ally and supporter

والخلق فيه تحول وتجدد

والخلق فيه تحول وتجدد

وتعدد بعوامل أشتات

وتعدد بعوامل أشتات

And creation within it is transformation and renewal,

And creation in it changes and renews

And multiplicity through diverse factors.

And multiplies with scattered factors

هذي الألوهة في الصميم فقل لمن

هذي الألوهة في الصميم فقل لمن

في الوهم فلسف جهله بالذات

في الوهم فلسف جهله بالذات

This is divinity at its core; so tell whoever

This divinity in essence so say to those

In delusion has made a philosophy of his ignorance of the Essence:

In illusion philosophizing their ignorance of the essence

هوّن عليك فكل ما هو كائن

هوّن عليك فكل ما هو كائن

ويكون ماضيه مدار الآتي

ويكون ماضيه مدار الآتي

Ease your mind, for all that exists

Make it easy on yourself for all that is and will be

And will exist has its past as the pivot of what is to come.

Its past is the orbit of the future
