    للنبت وهو نشوان حالم

O spring drizzle, O herald of awakening,

For the plants, enraptured and dreaming.

Welcome to the friend who has not forgotten my sorrows,

And among them is one thirsty like the buds:

The sparrows chirped around you with joy,

In verse, as though you were a ruler.

    غناء وإن يكن جد ناعم

There is song, even if it is very gentle.

It contains; and some of it hears and understands.

Understanding it is for those alone who have made the universe feel

Beauty, and made a compassionate person's heart feel it.
