أن ينقذ الشعب من ضيم يعانيه

Can the prince—may God exalt his wisdom—

Does the beloved Prince, may God make his wisdom endure,

Save the people from the oppression they endure?

Have the power to save the people from the injustice they suffer?

والضيم ألوانه شتى وأظلمها

أن يشعر المرء أن الموت يغنيه

أن يشعر المرء أن الموت يغنيه

And oppression’s colors are varied; the darkest of them is

The injustices are many and the darkest of them

For a person to feel that death would enrich him.

Is when a man feels that only death can comfort him.

فالشعب لا بد من بعث يحين له

For the people must have a rebirth whose hour will come,

The people must be revived and given new life

And they will surely crush their exploiters.

And their oppressors will surely be crushed.

كن أنت قدوته المثلى وزده غنى

ولا تدعه شريدا في دياجيه

Be yourself their ideal example, and increase their wealth,

Be their perfect example and enrich them.

And do not leave them outcast in their dark nights.

Distribute among the people thousands that were stolen from them,
