We renew the memory of your days and recall it,

and we bring yesterday's image near, though it is far away.

And the past offers people insights that guide

the erring, or along which the rightly guided walk.

If a dead man's good name is not honored in a land,

the living there are at a loss as to how to rise to eminence.

And we, judges of justice, safeguard its past,

though nothing new in matters of rights escapes us.

And we know that we are pillars in the building,

and you are the building's firm foundation.

Farid, our victims are many; yet

in the realm of sacrifice, you are unique.

For no further limit lies beyond what you endured for justice,

and nothing exceeds what you suffered for it.

You spent ten years in exile, wretched throughout,

and you were a homeless wanderer across the lands' horizons.

You go hungry in some lands and naked in others,

and you are bowed beneath illness, ever at hand.

Behold, for the sake of God and justice, newly acquired

    wealth you did not withhold, nor ancestral wealth;

and after your wealth, you gave your life with patience,

when the dying man quails as he breathes his last.

So may you ever remain a statue of pure justice,

upon its secret we build and raise glory,

teaching the community's youth what love of the homeland is,

and how to stand in its defense and protect it.
