Take the sun of day as its adornment.
Take the sun of daytime as adornment for him
Was it not long the crown of your forebears?
Was not your first crown once embellished?

Upon moral virtue, lay out sovereignty and build.
On morals, inscribe the monarchy and build it
For beyond virtue, glory has no pillar.
For beyond them there is no pillar of glory

Is there not an Eden for you in the Nile Valley,
Do you not in the Nile Valley have Eden
And its Kawthar, which flows sweetly?
And its copious flow running delightfully?

We have a homeland we protect with our lives,
We have a country of our own we keep pure
And ransom with the whole wide world.
And for the wide world we sacrifice it

When souls gush forth in it
We give them freely, as though we had given nothing.
We spend them as if we'd given nothing

Ours is the pyramid that has kept company with time,
Ours is the pyramid which time befriended
And secured safety from its vicissitudes.
And from its news it drew reassurance

Forebears who taught the nations to advance.
The ancients taught nations nobility

Their era stretched long in glory and pride;
Long was their era in glory and pride
Then, when it passed into history as a treasure,
And when it was history’s treasure

We were reborn in glory anew
We made truth its exalted expression.
Making truth its lofty manifestation

We made Egypt the faith of the Lord of Majesty,
We made Egypt the nation of Divine Majesty
And embraced the cross upon the crescent.
And wedded the cross to the crescent

And advanced like a rank of lofty spears:
And came in ranks, strong and allied
One sturdy lance is bound fast to another.
As warriors strengthened warriors staunchly

For Egypt we seek glory unassailable
Along whose sides peace flutters,
With peace waving on its flanks

So you will never find a guest unhappy among us.
No lodger will find us wretched
