O seeker of good deeds, you are a remnant

among the righteous, fit for every good deed.

Benevolence has gates that appear to its people,

of many kinds; with you, every gate is opened.

Those of noble character profit through the ages,

yet, wonder of wonders, what you gain has eluded them.

    يلهو كرفقته لديك ويمرح

    At the door is one bereft of speech whom you have brought to life;

he plays and frolics in your presence, like his companions.

He offers you spring flowers, while he has

flowers of praise still fresher and more fragrant.

And in your assembly he rises, reciting on their behalf

a verse in which the generous man is extolled and praised:

The deaf have indeed heard the tale of your generosity,

and the mute are tongues eloquent in thanking you.
