  1. أيها البحر ألق في مصر أملا

    حك حتى ترابها يتسبخ

    O sea, cast your salts upon Egypt,

    until its soil turns saline.

  2. كل من ضاقت الحياة عليه

    جاء مصرا وباض فيها وفرخ

    Everyone for whom life grew hard

    came to Egypt, laid eggs there, and hatched young.
