لا وَالقَوامُ الَّذي وَالأَعيُنِ اللاتي

لا وَالقَوامُ الَّذي وَالأَعيُنِ اللاتي

ما خُنتُ رَبَّ القَنا وَالمَشرَفِيّاتِ

ما خُنتُ رَبَّ القَنا وَالمَشرَفِيّاتِ

No, by that figure and by those eyes,

By Him who gave the nights their darkness, and the suns their light,

I have not betrayed the master of lances and Mashrafi swords.

I have not betrayed the lord of Qana nor his holy sites,

وَلا سَلَوتُ وَلَم أَهمُم وَلا خَطَرَت

وَلا سَلَوتُ وَلَم أَهمُم وَلا خَطَرَت

بِالبالِ سَلواكِ في ماضٍ وَلا آتِ

بِالبالِ سَلواكِ في ماضٍ وَلا آتِ

Nor have I forgotten you, nor intended to, nor has it crossed

Nor asked for peace when war raged hot, nor shunned the battle's might.

My mind to forget you, in times past or to come.

Your image has not left my thoughts in times of peace or fight,

وَخاتَمُ المُلكِ لِلحاجاتِ مُطَّلَبٌ

وَخاتَمُ المُلكِ لِلحاجاتِ مُطَّلَبٌ

وَثَغرُكِ المُتَمَنّى كُلُّ حاجاتي

وَثَغرُكِ المُتَمَنّى كُلُّ حاجاتي

And the royal ring is sought to fulfill wishes;

For you're the seal and signet ring that validates my life,

And your longed-for mouth is all I desire.

And your sweet lips, my heart's desire, grant all that I requite.
