My soul and the delight of my eye,

My soul and the delight of my eyes

I sought protection for him through al-Husayn.

I protected him with Al-Hussein

سلالتي من علي

سلالتي من علي

ولدته مرتين

ولدته مرتين

My offspring through Ali,

My lineage is from Ali

I begot him twice.

I gave birth to him twice

أحببته كأبيه

أحببته كأبيه

وزدته حبتين

وزدته حبتين

I loved him as I did his father,

I loved him like his father

And gave him two extra measures of love.

And I gave him two more loves

طفل علينا أمير

طفل علينا أمير

مقبل الركبتين

مقبل الركبتين

A child, a prince over us,

A child upon us, a prince

Whose two knees are kissed.

Approaching on his knees

رضاه غير قليل

رضاه غير قليل

وسخطه غير هين

وسخطه غير هين

His approval is no small matter,

His pleasure is no small thing

And his displeasure is no light thing.

And his anger no easy matter

يقصى ويدنى بأولى

يقصى ويدنى بأولى

إشارة الراحتين

إشارة الراحتين

He dismisses and summons with the first

He comes near and goes far with a gesture of his two palms

Gesture of his two palms.

And becomes more radiant with deceit

ويزدهى بخداع

ويزدهى بخداع

وقول زُورِومَين

وقول زُورِومَين

And he is puffed up by deception

And words of lies and oaths

And words of falsehood and lies.
