God has granted goodness to the people of Paris,
God has granted the people of Paris goodness
and I deem reason the best of what they were granted.
And I see that intellect is the best thing they were given

They have an exhibition of fruits and flowers that
the earth brings forth, an exhibition they have arranged.
The earth produces which they have arranged

A paradise that enchants minds, and a garden
A garden that captivates minds and a meadow
from which the eye gathers what they have scattered.
That brings together what the eye has scattered

لَو رَآهُ السُقاةُ ما حَقَّقوهُ
You cannot make out the grapevine, so transformed in shape that
You won't see vines that are so well matched
even the cupbearers, if they saw it, would not recognize it.
That even if the irrigators saw them they wouldn't believe them

It intoxicates onlookers while still a vine, although
It intoxicates the onlookers with vines yet
no hand has yet pressed it, nor have they aged it.
No hand has squeezed it nor freed it

They shaped it as they pleased, until
They pictured it as they wished until
people marveled: how had they not made it speak?
People were amazed at how they didn't make it speak

The devout person finds God's hand in it,
The pious find God's hand in it
and the denier says: they have created it.
Yet the unbeliever says they created it
