إلى المولى الكريم بسطت كفّى

إلى المولى الكريم بسطت كفّى

وبسط الكف للكرماء يكفى

وبسط الكف للكرماء يكفى

To the generous Lord I extended my palm.

I spread my palms before the Generous Lord

And extending one's palm to the generous suffices.

And to spread one's palm before the generous is enough

ومالي لا أمد يدي إليه

ومالي لا أمد يدي إليه

وقد عم الورى بخفي لطف

وقد عم الورى بخفي لطف

And why should I not extend my hand to Him,

Why would I not extend my hand to Him

When He has encompassed all creation with subtle kindness?

When His subtle kindness has spread throughout existence

خزائن علمه بالفضل فاضت

خزائن علمه بالفضل فاضت

ومنه الجود مقرون بعطف

ومنه الجود مقرون بعطف

The treasuries of His knowledge have overflowed with bounty.

The treasuries of His knowledge have overflowed with grace

And from Him, generosity is joined with compassion.

And from Him flows generosity coupled with kindness

فلا تردد يدي صفرا فإنّي

فلا تردد يدي صفرا فإنّي

شكوت إليك لا لسواك ضعفي

شكوت إليك لا لسواك ضعفي

So do not send my hand back empty, for I

So do not send back my hand empty, for verily

Have complained of my weakness to You, not to anyone else.

I have complained to you of none but my own weakness
