لذ بجاه المصطفى خير الأنام

إن جاة المصطفى حاشى يضام

For the sake of the Chosen One, the best of creation

His intercession is never refused

صاحب المعراج والتاج ومن

نوره يجلو الدياجى والقتام

The companion of the Ascension, the Crown, and the One

Whose light dispels darkness and gloom

قد أتى والكفر يسطو جيشه

فأذاق الكفر آلام الحمام

He came while disbelief was raging with its armies

So disbelief tasted the pain of doves

وغدا الإسلام في أعلى الذرا

وانزوى الكفر وقد عم السلام

And Islam rose to the highest heavens

While disbelief receded and peace reigned

أشرقت في الكون أنوار الهدى

برسول الله مصباح الظلام

The lights of guidance shone in the universe

With Allah’s Messenger, the lamp dispelling darkness

يا رسول الله شوقى زائد

ومن البعد فؤادي في اضطرام

O Messenger of Allah, my longing is abundant

And from afar, my heart is aflame

يا رسول الله قصدى نظرة

تنطفى من بردها نار الغرام

O Messenger of Allah, my goal is but a glance

That will extinguish with its coolness the fire of passion

وأرى الحجرة والروضة

والمنير الساميَ مع باب السلام

I see the chamber and the garden

And the towering luminous one at the Gate of Peace

وأراني باسطا أيدى الدعا

بين أيدى المصطفى حامى الذمام

I see myself raising my hands in supplication

Before the hands of the Chosen One, protector of oaths

حسن ظنى فيك يا خير الورى

ورجائي الحج للبيت الحرام

I have good thoughts of you, best of creation

And my hope is to pilgrimage to the Sacred House

وأراني في المصلى خاشعا

بالتجلى عند أستار المقام

I see myself humble in prayer

By the Station of Gabriel, at the curtains

فإذا ما نلت قصدى والمنى

فزت بالعز وإدراك المرام

So if I attain my goal and purpose

I will triumph in honor and achieve my wishes

وغذا زرت جناب المصطفى

فعلى الكون ومن فيه السلام

And if I visit the side of the Chosen Prophet

Peace be upon the universe and all within

يا رسول الله عندي لو

واشتغال واشتياق وهيام

O Messenger of Allah, I have longing

And preoccupation, yearning and infatuation

إن عمرى قد تولى وانقضى

وشبابي في النحطاط وانصرام

Indeed my life has passed and vanished

And my youth fades and withers away

ضحك الشيب برأسي فبكيت

على نفسي كما يبكى الغلام

Old age laughs at my head so I weep

Over myself like a crying boy

رب بلّغني مرادى قلما

يلتوي الأمر ويعروني السقام

Lord, enable me to attain my wish before

The matter twists and disease afflicts me

رب إني ذو افتقار معدم

وغناك الجم يهمى كالغمام

Lord, I am utterly poor and deprived

And Your bounty comes down like clouds

رب تمم مقصدى ياذا الغنى

فأرى بالسفح هاتيك الخيام

Lord, fulfill my purpose O Self-Sufficient One

So I see those tents at the plain

رب مالى غير جاه المصطفى

من حميم أو شفيع في الأنام

Lord, I have none but the intercession of the Chosen One

No dear friend or intercessor among people

حب طه حل قلبي قبلما

أترك المنهد وارمى بالفطام

Love of Taha took my heart before

I leave the pulpit and stop breastfeeding

وتمشى في عروقي مثلما

يتمشى البدر في جنح الظلام

It flows in my veins as

The full moon flows in the wings of night

رب أرجو منك عفوا وغنى

برسول الله مع حسن الختام

Lord, I hope for pardon and bounty from You

With the Messenger of Allah and a good conclusion

فعليه الله صلى كلما

فاح مسك أو سرى بدر التمام

So blessings upon him whenever

Musk fragrance blows or the full moon shines
