قَد بَعَثنا إِلَيكَ مِنهُ بِدرجٍ

قَد بَعَثنا إِلَيكَ مِنهُ بِدرجٍ

وَأَزَرناكَ مِنهُ أَطيبَ زورِ

وَأَزَرناكَ مِنهُ أَطيبَ زورِ

We have sent you some of it in a small box,

And sent its sweetest-scented guest to visit you:

بَينَ ندٍّ وَبَينَ عودٍ مطرّاً

بَينَ ندٍّ وَبَينَ عودٍ مطرّاً

ما لَهُ مُشبِهٌ بِنَجدٍ وَغورِ

ما لَهُ مُشبِهٌ بِنَجدٍ وَغورِ

Both compound incense and perfume-moistened aloeswood,

With no equal in Najd or the lowlands.

أَنتَ مِنهُ أَزكى وَأَطيَبُ عَرفاً

أَنتَ مِنهُ أَزكى وَأَطيَبُ عَرفاً

وَهوَ أَزكى مِن كُلِّ طيبٍ وَنَورِ

وَهوَ أَزكى مِن كُلِّ طيبٍ وَنَورِ

You are more fragrant than it, and sweeter in scent,

And it is more fragrant than every perfume and blossom.

ما تَعَدَّيتَ فيهِ طَورَكَ عِندي

ما تَعَدَّيتَ فيهِ طَورَكَ عِندي

فَتَبَخَّر مِنهُ بِأَيمَنِ طَيرِ

فَتَبَخَّر مِنهُ بِأَيمَنِ طَيرِ

In my eyes, you have not exceeded your station with it;

So scent yourself with its smoke under the happiest of omens.
