Say to the caliph: O cousin of Muhammad,

فَلِسانُهُfor his tongue لِلشَتمِfor insulting فيin أَعراضِناour honor
وَالرِجلُand the foot مِنهُof him فيin الصُدورِthe chests تَجولُroams
For his tongue insults our honor,
His tongue insults us, trampling on our honor
And his foot roams across chests.
His sly designs creep into hearts, make mischief there

How many a petitioner with a grievance or a need,
Many who seek from him some favor or appointment
Exposed to his words, is kicked!
Must bow to his abuse, swallow his bile, unfair
