المَينُ عارٌ وَخَيرُ القَولِ أَصدَقُهُ

المَينُ عارٌ وَخَيرُ القَولِ أَصدَقُهُ

وَالحَقُّ ما مَسَّهُ مِن باطِلٍ رَهَقا

وَالحَقُّ ما مَسَّهُ مِن باطِلٍ رَهَقا

Lying is a disgrace, and the best speech is the most truthful.

Reproach is shame, and truth the noblest speech,

And truth overwhelms whatever falsehood touches it.

While falsehood perishes, however bright its gleam.
