شيَّدَ الموغلون في الشرِّ وكْراً

فتداعى بهم فبانوا وبانا

فتداعى بهم فبانوا وبانا

Those steeped in evil built a lair.

The evildoers built a den,

Then it collapsed with them; they vanished, and so did it.

So it collapsed on them revealing their disgrace.

فئةٌ أفلستْ وضاعتْ سلوكاً

فئةٌ أفلستْ وضاعتْ سلوكاً

ومضتْ تلعقُ السقوطَ هوانا

ومضتْ تلعقُ السقوطَ هوانا

A faction went bankrupt and astray in its conduct,

A group grew destitute and lost their way,

And went on licking its downfall in humiliation.

Licking the dirt of humiliation.

حسبتْ أنَّها ستصبحُ شيئاً

حسبتْ أنَّها ستصبحُ شيئاً

وسيُرخي لها الزَّمانُ العنانا

وسيُرخي لها الزَّمانُ العنانا

It thought it would amount to something,

They thought they'd become something,

And time would loosen the reins for it.

And time would give them free rein.

كشفتْ سرَّها المقيتَ قلوبٌ

كشفتْ سرَّها المقيتَ قلوبٌ

كنَّ عينَ الحِمى وكنَّ لسنا

كنَّ عينَ الحِمى وكنَّ لسنا

Hearts revealed its loathsome secret;

Disgusted hearts exposed their despicable secret -

They were the sanctuary's eye, and they were eloquent.

They were the eye of the storm and its sharp tongue.
